c is for cookie and p is for procrastination

So I made these cookies for Blizzcon, but forgot to take any of the thumbprints I made so I'll be making more this weekend.

These are chocolate chip cookies with cinnamon and pecan. They were a hit!

I started out with this recipe:

Then I added cinnamon to taste, more vanilla, more chocolate and pecans.

OH ... I thought they came out a bit too sweet and I used dark brown sugar instead of light. So lower the amount of white sugar you use by about 1/4th cup at least.

I fail at measurements.

I've got a few food pics from the past few weeks, but not enough as I've been ...

eating out and also not taking pictures.

Places I've been this week:
Bombay Frankies
Shake Shack
Hill Country BBQ
Burger King

Place I will go sooner rather than later:
Artichoke Basille for pizza nirvana.

bite me Delta

blogger-emoticon.blogspot.comDelta can suck my nonexistent wang. They decided to change my reserved-since-August return flight seat to a "will assign at gate" so Sunday night in Cali I go up and talk to a few people managing to get a "exit window" seat. Why.. oh why... now I know why this particular seat was empty.

When I got to the seat and we were in the air I noticed that the window/door had a very, VERY bad draft.

So the left side of my body was frozen in the early morning as I tried to sleep for FOUR HOURS and change.

I put one foot in my bag and the other one in the bag that held the flimsy blanket I'd draped over my legs. I had my hoodie on with the hood up and my hands under the blanket and STILL shivered like a crack fiend.

I think I got a cold and to add insult to injury when we finally got to NYC we had to wait while something came to push the plane back because they moved up too far. That added another 15 minutes time to an already messed up flight.

blizzcon recap

So I'm back from California and all in all I had a great time!blogger-emoticon.blogspot.com

Blizzcon was full of the kind of people I tend to avoid walking down the street, but I got to meet a few of the ones I tolerate and play the game with on a daily basis.

Blizzcon also had its share of people who need to wash their clothing before they put them on and stand in a line next to others with working nostrils, really.

There were also a lot of costumes around. I didn't take many pictures because I was lazy.

I got to play Diablo III and the Witchdoctor class is extremely overpowered. They announced the Wizard class which I also got to play. I'm in love with the game and I'm even more in love with the t-shirts the devs were wearing which had this graphic on the front (Someone pleaaaase sell this t-shirt. We wants it):

I got to see the cast of The Guild, a lot of the arena tournaments and truly enjoyed the concert at the end. Patton Oswalt was very funny and Video Games Live rocked.

Level 80 ETC is coming to NYC for the Wrath launch so I'm hoping to check them out and get devs to sign my copy of Wrath!

I haven't had time to play the beta much, but I'm sure I'll have fun.

salchipapas

I'd been craving these since I visited my parents a month ago and got an "ok" version from Mama's Empanadas. I used some more organic potaotes and a few kosher franks (I really need to find a better sausage for this than Hebrew National... maybe kielbasa).

The best version I've had is from PioPio, but I think it's because their garlic-lime sauce is sooooo delicious on anything. The PioPio on 90th and 1st uses thicker hot dogs/sausages than the one I went to on Woodhaven in Queens.

I had an ample amount of tomatoes and onions with it that were sprinkled with lemon, salt and a little sugar.
