no knead bread #iforget

So I got this recipe from Steamy Kitchen and I like it a lot.

I use coarse sea salt since I don't have kosher salt in the apartment.

You've gotta try it!

Don't use a terrycloth towel cause by the time the dough rises it'll be stuck in a bad way.

I got these flour sacks from the hardware store that are like soft, thin cotton and they work very well for this recipe.

Burger @ The Sunburnt Cow

How did I ever miss this little jewel on the LES? (That's lower east side for anyone unfamiliar)

Unlimited mimosas and a burger with weird stuff on it? I'm in.

So they took a while to get our food to us but once it was there I liked it better than I thought. Being drunk from the mimosas helped a lot too.

This burger is done Aussie style with a beet, a slice of pineapple and an egg on top. I devoured every last bite too!

This place doesn't hold your reservation after 15 minutes and will only seat you if your entire party is there. (we had to cab from Morningside Heights down there in about... 15-20 mins and made it with a minute to spare!)

ginger snaps

Mmmm so good. I used this recipe here.

Without adding his grandma's modifcations they came out very thin and chewy. I liked this, but I had planned on using them in a banana pudding later.

A few weeks later I tried them with the extra flour and water added in and they came out thicker, sturdier and still quite yummy. If I want to try the ginger banana pudding I'm thinking of I'll use this version.

I ended up putting whipped cream on the latter version at the BF's behest:
