double chocolate chip almond cookies

So I'd planned on making these for my building super and porter as a end of year thank you, but then the ceiling in my bedroom caved in last night so they're now a, "please fix this quickly, also thank you for last year... yeah" gift.

I'm sending a few to a friend that didn't get to taste many of the other batch I made.

Also saving some so the boy doesn't glare at me when he ain't got none.

I should have gone out and got pecans, but I didn't sleep at all last night so they get what I had in the apartment. *huff*

spicy double chocolate chip macadamia nut cookies

So as a thank you to Q for sending me cupcakes I decided to make cookies. I totally pulled this recipe out of nowhere basing it off a chocolate chip cookie idea and working around her favorite nut, macadamia.

This is the first time I've actually not minded eating cookie dough (I'm not really a fan).

I put a whole heap of chocolates in here, in the batter some Callebaut, cocoa from Williams-Sonoma, dark chocolate pieces from Ghirardelli and these organic white chocolate pieces from Sunspire.

I'll be sending them off to a couple of people including Q. =)

I made sure to save my boyfriend a few for NYE and I hope everyone likes the cookies when they arrive.

dad is great... give us chocolate cake

Chocolate cake for breakfast?

...eggs! Eggs are in chocolate cake! And milk! Oh goody! And wheat! That's nutrition! "What do you want?" "Can I have some chocolate cake?" "Chocolate cake coming up."

Actually it should be kid is great... cause I had to cart that over to the 'rental unit's apartment for Christmas. Whatever!

You can also see no knead bread #iforget-1 in the background.

This is double chocolate cake with a chocolate cream cheese frosting. Lots of yummy Valrhona and Callebaut in there with Ghirardelli dutch process cocoa for good measure.

Why are chocolate makers so hard to spell anyway?

churros and chocolate from Pamplona

I was down around 28th street for a Hanky Panky sample sale and decided to stop into Pamplona. I was a little too hungry to remember to take a picture of the steak sandwich I had, but it was tasty. I would have rather had a lime based sauce on it than the aioli it came with, however. They even asked me how I wanted my steak cooked (medium rare, baby).

Anyway after I wolfed that down I had to try the churros I'd been hearing so much about so here they are in all their take out glory.

I put the container in the microwave to heat both them and the chocolate up and the dish was much improved by it!

Best part was they had those cute little coke bottles behind the bar so I got to sip one while I waited for my order to be ready.

c is for cookie and p is for procrastination

So I made these cookies for Blizzcon, but forgot to take any of the thumbprints I made so I'll be making more this weekend.

These are chocolate chip cookies with cinnamon and pecan. They were a hit!

I started out with this recipe:

Then I added cinnamon to taste, more vanilla, more chocolate and pecans.

OH ... I thought they came out a bit too sweet and I used dark brown sugar instead of light. So lower the amount of white sugar you use by about 1/4th cup at least.

I fail at measurements.

I've got a few food pics from the past few weeks, but not enough as I've been ...

eating out and also not taking pictures.

Places I've been this week:
Bombay Frankies
Shake Shack
Hill Country BBQ
Burger King

Place I will go sooner rather than later:
Artichoke Basille for pizza nirvana.
